Orion was formed in Kansas in 2006 from the fragments of four popular Midwest acts and draws on a myriad of musical influences. The band credits Weezer, Failure and HUM with shaping their sound, but the inspiration doesn't end there.
Orion spent most of 2007 in the studio with long time friend Eric Graves [the Esoteric] and first partnered with Pop Up Records in 2008 to contribute a track to the Failure tribute album. They've been with us since and have released their debut "10011011", which has been described as the next great hope for the current era of space rock. The band meshes infectious melodies with raw power to create a one-of-a-kind sound, a sound you have to hear to believe. Begin boarding now. Step into the light and prepare for lift-off. Orion will launch you to a far away place you've yet to experience.
Band Members: Lance McCurdy - Bass | Patrick Crough - Voice.Guitar | Brad Chancellor - Drums
“The Nurse Who Loved Me: A Tribute To Failure” is all around triumphant. This album pays tribute to one of the greatest bands of the 90s and the legacy they‘ve left the musical world. There are few bands that deserve a tribute more so than Failure, as they have defined a mighty sound, that has remained so influential to so many bands, in numerous different ways.
